’ヒトのカラダを助ける工学’ の創出で人口減少社会のQOLを支える!

人口は減少の一途をたどっています。現在はヒトの手でヒトを支えている、その「手」が足りなくなります。機能デザイン工学専攻は「ヒトのカラダを助ける工学」を創出することで、人口が減少しても人々が幸せに暮らせる社会の実現を目指します。

機能デザイン工学専攻の特徴

体内の代謝を司る「メディカル機能」、脳の機能を司る「知能認識」、四肢の運動を司る「運動ロボティクス」の、ヒトのカラダの機能に応じた3つの研究分野の融合と連携により「ヒトのカラダを助ける工学」を創出します。

多岐にわたる専問分野を柔らかくつないでイノベーションに導く「デザイン思考」の教育と研究を行います。

連携大学院で産業技術総合研究所、物質・材料研究機構、量子科学技術研究開発機構、理化学研究所から客員教員を招き、教育と研究の発展を目指します。

The population is on a continuous decline. Currently, human hands support human lives, but soon, there will not be enough hands to meet this need. The Department of Medical and Robotic Engineering Design is dedicated to pioneering engineering solutions that support the human body, striving to create a society where people can live fulfilling lives even in the face of population decline.

Key Features

- By integrating and collaborating across three specialized research fields—"Medical Functions," which govern metabolic processes within the body; "Cognitive Recognition," which governs brain functions; and "Motor Robotics," which governs limb movement—the Department of Medical and Robotic Engineering Design aims to pioneer engineering solutions that support and enhance the human body.
- We engage in education and research on "design thinking," which seamlessly connects diverse specialized fields, fostering innovation through interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Through the collaborative graduate program, we invite visiting faculty from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), the National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST), and RIKEN to advance education and research.
